• You Have More Courage Than You Think

Working to resolve what you struggle with takes hard work and courage. The courage to see yourself honestly and share it with me. Regardless of what you’re going through and how you feel about yourself today, walking through the therapy door shows me that you’re bold enough to face your challenges head-on, and that’s exactly what I’ll give back to you.

I’ll give you back the same boldness in the form of direct, determined, open dialogue. My pull-no-punches compassionate approach begins with my empathy to what you’re going through.

I know the best thing I can do for you is to boldly say whatever needs saying to sort out and solve the issues you’re working on.

I want you to get as much as possible out of every session, and my straightforward approach does just that. Before working as a therapist, I built a successful practice as a leadership and life coach. Although coaching is more about goal setting and outcome creation while therapy is primarily focused on resolving difficulties, often arising from the past, they both benefit from my frank, sincere style.

  • Focus

  • My clients come from various walks of life and all have one thing in common. They’re ready to do the work it takes to make strides forward

    Focus on what you know…

My own experience as a woman of color in the corporate world and as an executive coach, draws professional men and women with diversity issues and career-life challenges to my door.

Along with my core work with individuals, I often develop group circles to bring together people who struggle with similar issues. These sounding board/support networks give my clients another way to put their own problems in perspective.

    I also work with couples...

As a Pre- Marriage Certified Prepare and Enrich Counselor, couples come to me needing help with struggles that inherently come with a new relationship. I also work with couples that just want to start off their life together on a solid foundation of trust and respect and seek out a proactive approach to move forward with their relationship.

My work with married couples centers on creating a relationship based on friendship. To do so, we define the root causes of our conflicts and learn to manage them individually and together. We can then look ahead to discover what the ideal future looks like, and work to develop support tools that ensure you both get what you truly want from your marriage - increased affection, respect, kindness and a greater understanding of each other.

With all of my clients, improving communication is key to achieving positive results. Almost every issue albeit an individual or a couple, can be more quickly resolved by improving your ability to communicate… beginning with your ability to communicate with yourself (self-awareness).

To learn more, feel free to communicate with me… give me a call and we’ll discuss what’s on your mind to see if we’re a good fit.

  • What’s a therapy session like?

    broken image

You’ve been creating relationships all of your life. Working with me begins with building another. For us to be successful in moving you forward, the relationship must begin with and always remain open and honest.

    broken image

I bring my tools, training and experience to the conversation, but more importantly, my patience, understanding, empathy and an innate ability to listen and learn about you. You will eventually need to get to the point where you can say anything that’s on your mind… without being afraid to do so. It’s the only way we’ll get to where we need to go.

    broken image

Neither of us will sugarcoat what we say and neither of us should feel any shame about saying what needs to be said. If you’re saying something in an attempt to give me understanding and help better your life, that’s nothing to feel shame about… just the opposite. You will learn to feel good about sharing your vulnerabilities - because being vulnerable shows strength and courage.
